  If you haven't stayed at this hotel in the last couple years you owe it to yourself to re-experience it. I was there last in '02 or so and the difference is astounding. The service was always good but now they have a facility of which to BE proud. Great bedding and linens. Nicely decorated. I honestly didn't recognize it. I remember during my last stay overhearing a couple in the restaurant talking about how the Tut really wasn't what it used to be. Well the ol' girl has made quite a comeback.

  While the renovation at the Tutwiler (aka Hampton Inn Birmingham Downtown) was still on-going when I stayed there, the better part of it was done, and character of the hotel contributed to a pleasant stay. The room was quite comfortable, with attractive furnishings, flat-screen TV, and a comfortable bed. I don't remember if the internet service was ethernet or wireless, but it worked nicely and (if I recall correctly) was included in the room price.. The restaurant was good but not great, although it has been renovated since my stay.
  
  While the Birmingham Museum and Library are nearby, it's not in a very convenient location, unfortunately. This wasn't a concern for me, but other travellers might have to consider other accommodation for that reason. That aside, I recommend this hotel to folks staying in Birmingham.

  We had a very nice experience while staying at the Tutweiler and decided to make it our Hotel when in Birmingham.The entire staff was super and always helpful,especially xxx and xxx.Thank you to everybody for a great stay.The room was nice.clean and roomy.
  He location is close to down town and local attractions,also conveniently closed to the airport.
  We will be staying there again.Rose and Fred

  This hotel is gorgeous! the staff is so friendly. the room service is speedy and delicious! definately would recommend to anyone. we plan to return soon!
