09/24/2009Stayed only two nights on a weekend. late check in was great. no problems finding hotel. desk staff was real helpful on amenities. i would definitely stay again.

the hotel in general had a slightly old and worn out look (not all glamour and glitz like the two Omni Hotels). we asked to be moved from the first room they gave us because it looked like someone on their staff had been using the room to fill out some reports (they were on the desk, along with a drinking cup). that's the only complaint we had. they moved us right away to a room with a better view. we liked the location of the hotel (right across from a marina), the size of the hotel (smaller, so didn't have to walk a mile to get to our room), the size of the pool (8ft at deep end), the view on the north side of the hotel, the breakfast room (top floor with great view), the free breakfast, quick check-in (heard many complaints about registration back-ups at the omnis, one friend had no a/c all night), the parking (no valet, but quick and easily-assessable covered parking). our arrival and departure were quick.

We stay here while attending the Boat Show. We were on the 9th floor with an excellent view of the bay and marina. The HOT breakfast (and it was all hot) and making our own waffles was a pleasant surprise. Staff was friendly. Room clean and well stocked with necessities. Highly recommend for the location to marina and downtown. Covered parking an added benny.

The reviews on this site helped us pick this hotel. Thanks to all who posted. We found the hotel, neat, clean and quiet. The staff was helpful and pleasant to deal with. We especially liked the two women who took care of the breafast buffet. The buffet had lots of food choices. The view from the 11th floor diningroom was beautiful. The location was convenient. We'd go back there.

I booked a room for the weekend at the Marina Grand. It was all that the site said. We had no surpises. Check in was extremely smooth. A school ROTC was there as well, when my husband double-checked that we would have a peaceful stay. The clerk checked to make sure they were not on our floor. We were the floor below and we didn't hear a peep. The family enjoyed the awesome view from our hotel. We attended a wedding at the OMNI, about 3 blocks away. Our room was bigger, the view of the marina much better and FREE breakfast for about $* a night cheaper. The staff was very quick to attend to our needs(pillows, light going out). They were also very helpful in finding a hair salon close by for our daughter, who was in the wedding. Overall, this was a very pleasant visit. We will definitely be staying there again. I had even recommended it to an uncle, who also stayed that weekend. They were just as pleased. My parents stayed at the OMNI and wished they had booked with us.
