Obviously not a four star hotel but it was clean. I'm extremely picky about the clean part. I can do old so long as it's clean and the Fremont rooms were clean. Perhaps this is because they recently redecorated/remodeled within the last few years. The bed was comfortable and say what you will about the old style air room air conditioner - it kept the room cool and helped drown out any outside or hallway noise making it easier to sleep.

Most people can tolerate different levels of quality and service, provided it meets a minimum. This hotel met that minimum - it was clean (very important to us), the room photo was as pictured, and it was a good value ($65 on a Friday night). The decor was modern and updated in the hallways and rooms. Liking this hotel just depends on what you like and what mood you are in. If you want to be pampered and like the extras, this is not the hotel for you. The hotel did not have a swimming pool, although you could get a pass and use the pool at a sister property a couple of blocks away. Room service and in-room TV checkout are not offered either. If these things are not important to you, and you don't want to spend a lot and want a decent place to stay without all the frills, this is the place for you. I'd recommend it for this type of traveler. I often read reviews and since everything is so subjective, one never knows how this place would rate with him/her. You often read one person rating a hotel highly and another person rating the same hotel poorly. We usually stay at five-star luxury hotels on the strip (Bellagio, etc.), but we are flexible and don't mind a three-star hotel if it's clean and safe. We definitely enjoy the higher level of service and amenities of the finer hotels, but this hotel is fine when you don't need the extras.

Our first stay at the Fremont Hotel and we have told all of our friends it is the place to go. Beautiful rooms, great staff, and located on the best intersection in town. Walk out the casino to Fremont Street and join the activities. Several live bands and several of the best casinos in town attached in a mall setting. Lots of people but very comfortable crowd. Some young and some old, but no trouble makers. Parking was a little confusing, all valet and in a garage attached to the hotel. Very easy and free once you find it. We are joining the Fremont Club and will be returning soon. By the way, out of 5 motels-cities around Nevada, this was the cheapest and by far, the nicest. Best of all, it's away from the strip.
