We (4 adults, two rooms) stayed one night in this hotel. I was attracted to this Day's Inn due to price and proximity to Arlington National Cemetery. We came from New Jersey to attend a relative's burial at this cemetery. We all found this hotel comfortable and they had a good continental breakfast the next morning. We would stay definitely here again!

I selected this facility for convenience to Arlington National Cemetary and Reagan Nat'l Airport, and price. Was pleasantly surprised to find: friendly and extremely helpful staff morning and night, plenty of neighborhood eateries of different ethnic varieties ;look past the fastfood joints;, drug store half-block away, convenience store with beer and wine across the street, location on a busline with frequent service and 8 minute ride to blue/yellow Metro lines, and wonderful pillows! The room was adequate, with new carpeting. Older hotel, and like many, this non-smoking room smelled like it spent a former life as a smoking room and had been deodorized Should not have had to pay more for a non-smoking room. We had trouble getting into our room with electronic key every time we entered--had to jimmy the door and cross fingers! Some street noise evident, but not disruptive. Very little noise from neighboring guests. Transportation Tips: While Pentagon Metro station is closest coming from the airport, bus service from there after evening rush hour is infrequent. Better to get off one stop earlier, at Pentagon City stop. #16 buses to hotel from either station--get off at Walter Reed Dror look for the HUGE McDonald's arches and walk across the street. DC bus drivers are the BEST!

Language Barrier
08/12/2008The houskeeping staff did not speak english. i had to ask for towels and a light bulb for the room using sign language. i know this was not a five ...
The houskeeping staff did not speak English. I had to ask for towels and a light bulb for the room using sign language. I know this was not a five star hotel, but I did expect the basic necessities. The food was either Thai or Chinese or McDonald's. Thank God I had a Garmin GPS.

Perfect for travelers with no kids and a tight budget.

Only there for one night. very good location. stores all around you in walking distance .public transportation at the hotel. two or three blocks from the freeway. minutes from downtown. service was very good. rooms were clean. beds comfortable. respectable good people staying at the hotel. overall well worth it....except one downfall ...the walls seem to be paper thin.we heard people talking next door. people walking up stairs and people outside all night. I had broken up sleep through out the night never really sleeping more than 3 hours at a time. other than that... for the price this was a very good hotel ....would definitely stay again.
