We were in town for a Charger's game, as were many other occupants it would seem, and rather than drive back to the High Desert after a long day, we spent the night at Best Western Continental Inn. It was exactly as advertised and expected. Nothing fancy, but more than adequate. Fair sized CLEAN room, nice (but not overly) firm CLEAN bed, tidy property, courteous staff, more-than-basic continental breakfast, everything we wanted. And at a very fair price. And don't forget the FREE wi-fi. Very close to any shopping needs you might have, right by the freeway but quiet, plus an in-room fridge and microwave, which came in handy. I often wonder, when reading hotel reviews, how much (if any) research people do before booking a room. All the info I needed I found through the website, what to expect and what not to expect, and we had no surprises whatsoever. For a fair price with more than adequate amenities, try the Best Western Continental Inn.

My brother was part of the Lakeside Rodeo a couple of weeks ago, and I made reservations at this hotel since it was only a few miles away from the grounds. The employees were very friendly, their room was nice, it had a small livingroom area, and two TV's. I was impressed with how clean the carpet and room were. Next year when my brother comes back we will stay there again.

All I can say is that the service received at this hotel was more than I expected. The room was spotless, the breakfast was basic but great (I love the hot oatmeal LOL and the eggs). The service was great, and i appreciate the fact that the manager was talking to everybody as we were walking into the breakfast room; he asked us how our stay had been, we even talked about how bad the economy was these days! All I could tell them is to keep giving everybody the same service we received; we travel from Simi Valley to San Diego twice a year, and from now and on we will definetiley stay at this Best Western.

I ordered the room online, the same day, went in to check in around 4pm. Filled out the card with my information,(drivers license, etc), then went upstairs to the room that was supposed to have a King sized bed. Upon entering the room, the room stunk as if someone had been smoking all their life in this ""100% smoke free motel"". Also the bed wasn't a King, but a queen. I went back downstairs and informed the 'manager' Pablo Sum that I could not stay there and that the room wasn't large enough to accommodate myself and two small children. He automatically gave me attitude and told me how ""the room size wasn't his fault and how it's the largest room in San Diego"" in addition to telling me that he wouldn't refund me the money for the room. I called bestwestern's 800 number, in which they told me it was the manager's discretion as to refund me the money because I purchased it same day online. I informed Pablo Sum of this and he basically told me he wouldn't refund the money because he didn't like what I told customer service (that the room stunk). Pablo was very rude, and told a fellow customer checking in that ""she's cheap, you get what you pay for when you're cheap""! So I asked for the card back that I filled out, in which he said ""no because I need this for dispute purposes"". I DO NOT recommended this dump. If you decide to check this out anyway, please check your room PRIOR to giving Pablo your information, otherwise they won't refund your money if you decide (which you will) that it's a dump and make you pay for the room, even though they will sell it to someone else after you.
