  The place was ""old"" but it was moderately clean. One of the towl racks was coming off the wall in the bathroom and the ice buckets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. The staff was very nice but it coulnd't make up for the experience. I was there with family and we needed to be in that area so that we could walk to the medical facilities. If I had my choice, I would have spent the extra money for a nicer hotel and got a rental car so that I could have slept in peace. The area was lit up and the police patrolled the area but it had those outside doors, no inside doors. The pool was clean and inviting, several of the guests were in there enjoying themselves. The restaraunt next door was slow and you better pray over your food so that you don't get sick if you eat there. I do understand that Birmingham is old but if you want tourism in the area they need to update things.

  The travel website stated pets allowed! checked in - no air conditioner and broken door knob. asked for a new room because my wife and dogs were hot. "dogs" they exclaimed. ...

  The travel website stated PETS ALLOWED! Checked in - No air conditioner and broken door knob. Asked for a new room because my wife and dogs were hot. "DOGS" they exclaimed. We were rejected a room. We had to drive back 120 miles, missed a birthday party, and paid $100. Asked for a refund for the travel agency by email, they referred me to call, called once, waited for 35 minutes. I was promised a call back, hum... never called. Called again today 45 minutes! Was offered a $50 voucher, huh? misrepresentation on web, 120 miles, no hotel, lose $50. yeah right. The great thing about Amex is you can dispute any charge. Bless Medical center Inn and bless every breathing soul at the travel agency. $500 says you will not post this!
