inadequate facilites for those who need a little extra help

this hotel basically does not have facilities for the handicapped. with a number of surgeries over the past few years I need a bathroom with a higher stool, grab bars, etc. the only handicapped facility this hotel has is a room with a queen bed!! now, how does a senior couple get by one queen bed? so, they put us in a standard room, with two beds. the bathroom is very small and could not possibly accomodate a person assisting another person with a shower. the commode is just a few inches off the floor--very difficulty for a 75 year old with an artificial knee and with fused discs in the back.. I will be back at ann arbor for football games but will never ever stay at this hotel again.

This hotel has a very friendly and efficient staff, a pool, a modest but adequate lobby area where you can meet with others, a lobby computer with internet access, and wi-fi. The continental breakfast is very nice, with hard boiled eggs, yogurt, waffles, fruit, english muffins, bagels, cereail, oatmeal, and more. Fruit is available in the lobby at all times. A small convenience area sells frozen personal pizzas, microwave sandwiches, chips, ice cream, soup, and other snacks. A microwave is available in the lobby. My room had a small refrigerator as well as a coffee maker, iron, ironing board, and flat screen TV with cable. This is a fairly new hotel and everything was clean and well kept. It can be hard to find as it is in an area with 5-6 other hotels, including a Marriot Courtyard. The room was nice, and the bed and pillows were quite comfortable. The bathroom contains only the tub and toilet, the sink is outside in the room (with stylish wooden base and stone sink top). My room with queen bed contained a low chest of drawers, a desk and office chair, one "easy" chair, a stand lamp, and a couple of table lamps. Lighting was quite adequate. Minuses: The bathroom did have one of the loudest fans I have ever heard, and there is no convenient area to place your suitcase(s) for unpacking. A suitcase stand is provided in the closet, but the only place where it can be set up is near the door, which is inconvenient.

This place was excellent for our purposes--a comfortable, clean respite from the hard work of moving our son out of his apartment. The provided breakfast was just fine and the staff at the front desk were very helpful. Hard to beat at the price.

My family and I recently stayed at the Fairfield inn- Ann Arbor MI. What a delightful experience!!! The management and staff went out of their way to help us. They were especially attentive to helping my handicap son. They could see he was having trouble getting some of his breakfast and came up and helped him and made him feel good about himself doing it. . The rooms were not what one would expect from a Fairfield. They were bright, clean and good lighting for my mature eyes!! I will defintely recommend the Fairfield Inn Ann Arbor to others and will stay with them again!!!
