Very spacious room with all needed amenities--desk, mini fridge, microwave, iron, mini-iron board. The mini fridge is very important because of the hot climate and need for cold water and drinks. Beds very comfortable with lots of pillows. Even a night light in the bathroom. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast was excellent; fresh fruits, yogurt, eggs, southern specialties, plus the usual cereal, sweet rolls, bread, coffee, tea, and juices. Brown Bag Breakfast to go for those in a hurry! Great location for those with limited walking/ handicapped situation. The largest Charleston Visitor Center is across the street. Be sure to see the (on the hour) Charleston Introductory movies. All the trolley lines merge at the visitor center, so you can take a tour of the city by trolley with just a $*/ day or $* day pass for unlimited trolley, bus usage. Charleston Museum and two historic houses (Aiken-Rhett and Joseph Manigault) are within 2-3 blocks. (Aiken and Manigault are good examples of before and after restoration). Driving in Charleston is difficult, congested, and very little parking. Trolley drivers are used to tourists and very accommodating. You can get within 1-2 blocks of most AAA GEM attractions using the trolley.

Great stay started when X the bell man greeted us at the door. Joyful, helpful and happy. He suggested where to eat, how to travel, where to go and what to see. He is the type of employee and person who exceeds and anticipates your needs. The staff were all helpful and oozed with southern hospitality. X though is over the top! I plan on returning and wont stay anywhere else.

What a great hotel! The staff couldn't have been better. Plus a great large room with a great view and excellent beds and pillows! Easy to find and accross the street from the visitor center. Comp. breakfast was great as well with a little bit of everything. Also coffee in the lobby 24/7 for us coffee hounds. Would love to go back

My husband and I stayed here with our 2-year-old daughter and we all enjoyed it. We were able to stash her stuff in the fridge behind the front desk. The breakfast was marvelous, something for all of our tastes. Everyone in the hotel was polite and helpful. The room was clean and the manager helped get our Internet connection working when it wouldn't reconnect on the second morning of our stay. Within good walking distance of most points of interest. Parking deck is right beside the hotel, so while free parking would have been ideal, at least we didn't have far to go to get to the car. I'm giving the "bed comfort" a 4 because neither of us slept well -- our mattress at home is firmer so it took us a while to get used to the softer bed.
