scale of rating, is Very Good, not excellent, but a very nice hotel in a great location. The history of the place and evolution into a top notch hotel is interesting. staff was friendly, helpful. room was clean and spacious. Overall condition is starting to show some age and needs refreshed, esp. the restaurant. Still hard to beat the location.

This hotel was first class in every way! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Fives stars all the way! Super clean and beautiful. Would highly reccommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Chicago ,infact if we go again we will definately stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Intercontinental. Our stay at the Hotel Continental was during the week of August 3 to 7, 2009. The personnel were very helpful. The hotel was prestine. We can't comment on the restaurant since we did not eat there. There are so many restaurants in the area. We were directly across from a mall entrance at the Nordstrom store. With the hotel being on Michigan Avenue and the front entrance opening to the ;Magnificent Mile, we were in walking proximity of the many upscale stores, the tour boats and other sites. Looking forward to returning to Chicago and booking out stay again at the Intercontinental.
