This was my favorite hotel in Mexico. The hotel is set back from the road in the jungle, and it is quite lovely, with outside covered walkways, lots of trees, a lovely pool. There are lots of creaturs around--crocodiles and turtles in the pond, a couple of tame parrots, iguanas that seem to have the run of the place, even some monkeys. The rooms were comfortable and very Mexican looking--good hot showers with good water pressure. The outside dining room overlooked the pooll and had very reasonably priced and very good food. Free 24 hour internet access, a good outdoor bar. This is not a fancy place, but it is a very relaxing, comfortable and homey hotel. Palenque the town itself is not chaming at all, and this hotel is like a little oasis in Mexico. It makes a great base of operations from which to see the Palenque ruins and take day trips to Tonina, Bonampak and Yaxchilin. I would recommend this to anyone going to this area.
