  This is truly one of the best Marriotts I've ever stayed at. It's situated on the Chao Phraya River and has expansive grounds. It really felt like one of those grand resorts in Hawaii with outdoor tiki bars, cultural dance shows at dinner, and more. Our room was luxurious and comfortable and we loved the free riverboat taxi to the other side of the river. Plus, Bangkok is a loud, dirty, crazy city so it was nice to have a peaceful retreat waiting for us at the end of the day. The staff was nice and the food at the restaurants was slightly better than I expected. (I don't tend to be the type to eat at the hotel.) All in all, it was a pampering experience and very affordable. But I will warn you against the advice of the concierge. She gave us the name of a tailor (James Fashion House) and it was a total scam. I'm still pretty miffed about the whole experience since we lost quite a bit of money. So be warned! Do not take their advice on a tailor in Bangkok.

  If you do not mind people pretending they understand you when they dont- or if you speak thai- this os an ok hotel- the buffet? stay away. good pool - nice ...

  If you do not mind people pretending they understand you when they dont- or if you speak thai- this os an ok hotel- The buffet? stay away. Good pool - nice view- I reccoment the Four Seasons or Shangra la up the river a few hundred yards.

  This hotel has the best service and is a beautiful property. if your interested in the nightlife of bangkok it's probably a little out of the way.

  We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Eaton Hotel and the service. We paid the little extra for the Eaton Club which ended up meaning we were given VIP check in and extended time check out. But more than that the Eaton Lounge was a very good place to relax, check email, have a breakfast, read a newspaper, enjoy snacks throughout the day and a great late afternoon spread of finger food. The cold drinks were readily accessible in the glass front refrigerator and beer and wine was also self serve. You cannot beat this place.
