  The toilet in our room never worked and the water (sink and shower) only worked occasionally. Water was not provided so we ended up having to buy water to wash with when the plumbing was not working. We requested a non-smoking room, but were put in a tiny smoking room the first night. Requests for service were generally ignored. Rooms were small and cramped. Several broken windows in public areas. Bathrooms were dirty and wallpaper pealing. Windows did not open properly. The good part is the location and the excellent breakfast. Also many nice restaurants, bars and interesting historic sites in the area. Close to buses and subway. The staff said the hotel was being remodeled, but we did not see any evidence of work in progress or workers coming and going during our stay.

  The entire building smelled of mold and mildew. The rooms are quite small. The location is good and the conceirge was helpful. The plumbing facilities are in need of an upgrade as is the hotel.

  Great location: about three blocks from the British Museum, on a main road with bus routes and lots of cabs; one block from Russel Square park. Clean room: good for the price. Quiet. Weather was 30 degrees Celsius and room was quite hot at night.
