We had a very pleasant stay at the Riande Continental Hotel. The front desk and concierge were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and very clean. The hotel is centrally located and close to lots of shopping and restaurants. The Tinaja Restaurant is only a couple of blocks away and offers a great Panamanian folklore dancing show. The hotel restaurant is OK but they do offer quite a variety of foods for the free breakfast. The business center offers computer and internet service for only $1.58 an hour. What a great deal!

This hotel is very nice and the staff is very helpful especially if you want to set up your tours from there. We had 4 days there and had a lot to see - we arranged everything through the business center and the tour guides at the entrance of the hotel. The drivers were extremely nice and helpful. One recommendation if booking a air/hotel package deal - DO NOT get the airport/hotel transport with Gamboa Tours - they are way tooo expensive and we had a problem with the pick up on the day we left. Arrange pickup through the hotel directly - it is much cheaper and the day you leave will go easier also.
Recommend seeing Casco Viejo and the Miraflores locks on the Panama Canal. -

The staff was quite helpful and answered all concerns and questions as quickly as possible. I don't speak much spanish and they not much english but we were able to communicate by being patient and courteous. The room was very nice and spacious and there were enough english speaking tv stations so watching tv at night was not boring. Overall a very pleasant stay in a very cosmopolitan and growing city.

Upon arrival the casino entrance looked like a Brothel and the side street that leads to the Parking entrance reeked of urine and vomit. At the front desk, in spite of several attending only two customers took over 20 minutes to get checked in. In the room the finishing was not very good and the air conditioner sounded like a 747 on take off.
Throughout our stay the front desk staff was disconnected and generally not very helpful. Upon check out the staff could not comprehend the need to leave and make a flight on time and treated us with disdain, then took her time on purpose in spite of the fact that I made it a point to stop by and go through the check out procedure the night before in order to expedite the process in the morning.
I do not recommend this hotel to anyone under any circumstances that are not an emergency!! -
