The Hotel even though slightly out of the way for walking everyday was excellent. The room spaciouis and clean the bed was very nice the only bad thing about the room was the Tv very small and hard to see in the cabinet provided. No intenet connection in the room either. The Hotel front desk supervisor made our first trip to DC a much better time directing us to ways to see more and do it easier. The bell staff went out of their way and overall it was great

Stayed here a few weekends ago and was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself is quite charming. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a suite during our stay and were quite happy with it. Our only complaint (albeit minor) is that they need to add a few additional mirrors in the room... the only one was in the bath and that doesn't do well when more than one person is trying to get ready in the morning. The location of this hotel was perfect. Several very good restaurants well within walking distance (try Beck's... our favorite). Staff overall could have used a bit more training on how to process packages such as the one we purchased, but they were quite pleasant and our questions were resolved very quickly.

The rate that I got was reasonable, but the room itself was extremely dark, sitting at street level. I couldn't open the shades during the day due to sidewalk traffic, and at night I couldn't see what was in the armoire/closet without a flashlight. Other than that, it is a lovely place and convenient.

Great ambiance -- more like a bed & breakfast with cable and internet. Short walk to two Metro lines; not far from Chinatown. Just off Massachusetts Ave. Hotel staff friendly and personable. Housekeeping was impeccable. Breakfast was a bit over-priced, but what hotel in DC has reasonable menu prices? Just be careful when exiting through the front door. The designer of this lovely old mansion set the front porch lower than the lobby floor.
