I stayed here a few months ago(spring of 2008) & was very pleased. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Free breaqkfast was a treat (Waffles!!!). The pool was was clean & warm. and open until midnight. The large hot tub was especially nice. It's convienently located across the street from the college (SUNY) and downtown is just a straight drive down the street a few miles. Large malls & convienient stores are just a five minutes drive. This was my second stay there & I am planning to stay again in the near future. I would definately stay here again.

08/21/2008I have stayed here every august for 5 years now. rates are still or close to the same. room is clean, staff friendly, and i will be back in 2009.

Overall this hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was safe; right across from UAlbany. Rooms were small but comfortable if you can get past the heat going on and off all night and the beds were alittle to soft. No refrig or microwave in rooms. Close to a mall, Walmart and eateries. Can not get extended rate stays, but they accomadated me with an hour later check out. Breakfast was basic but okay. For a Marriott hotel I would rate this one a low level 2 out of 4.

No comparison to Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. The breakfast selection was poor. The cereal looked as though it had been out for weeks. The orange juice came out as orange water. the coffee was weak. there were no muffins or toast options. the beds were lumpy and the pillows were like rocks. Avoid this Fairfield and stay somewhere else!
