From the moment of our arrival until our checkout, the entire experience was A++++! The entire staff was extremely friendly and courteous,; the impressive yet welcoming lobby was beautifully decorated and filled with fragrance from the amazing and fragrant floral centerpieces. The cozy adjacent bar was finished in rich dark wood paneling with a jazz combo playing on Friday and Saturday nights. Our room was lovely with the prerequisite suptuous, beautifully appointed marble bath. It was all the luxury we've come to expect at a Ritz. But, to top it all off, there were warm scented towels to wipe our hands before checking in; there was an urn of specially flavored hot chocolate (you have to try the white hot chocolate!!!) and cookies every afternoon and even the occassional private limo for our use! 'Talk about "white glove", extra special attention to every detail...this was it.

while the Willard is still the standard bearer for DC stays, the Ritz is spectacular as well. The public spaces are full of beautiful museum quality art, the rooms are sumptuous, and the food and bar service are top notch. I found the staff polite but somewhat uneven as several staff members were a little bit too full of their personal importance---too bad as there were some really top shelf people along with the "snobby" staff members.
The location is also quite good. Less then two blocks from George Washington University and about a 1.4 mile walk/run to the Linclon Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and the reflecting pond. -

This hotel is gorgeous. We had our meeting in the old fire chimney room which was so fascinating and interesting! Lots of unique aspects to this hotel. The main restaurant is fabulous - the food is delicious! As with all Ritz hotels, I found the staff to be particularly helpful and friendly.
The hotel has a great location just off the main road in Georgetown, and it's very easy to go for a long walk through the streets of Georgetown or to take a run down through the memorials.
