  I read the one and only review on the LOR with a HUGE sence of disappointment! I've been going to the LOR every year for the last 17 years. My parents have a week at the end of July that we use every year as our family reunion week for everyone to come out and visit. I've never had a disappointing experience. Growing up there were and still are daily activities to indulge in for children and adults, the trampolines down on the lake are a blast, the hot tubs are always relaxing, the staff is amazing and always accommodating and the views are breath taking! I've seen many, many happy guests over the years and even many beautiful weddings down on the beach. I HIGHLY recommend anyone staying at the Lake Okanagan Resort, I not only stay there for one week each year but because we live in the Okanagan we visit for dinner or a relaxing hot tub all year long! Now that I have a new baby I look forward to sharing the LOR with him as he grows up visiting there! The hiking, horseback riding, boating, paddle boating, and karaoke are just a few of our favorite things to do!

• Don't let the nice pictures on their website fool you

  We booked a room at this hotel based on the the LOR's description of the rooms, the pictures on their website and their four star rating. LOR is out of the way, and our intent in booking here was to enjoy some peace and quiet for a few days at a nice resort.
  
  Imagine our surprise when we discovered that our room was straight out of the seventies, there were dust bunnies on the nightstands, the "kitchen" cupboards looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years, the lino was coming up at the edges in the bathroom and kitchen, the carpet was worn and dirty, and there was a funny smell in the air.
  
  We told the hotel staff that the room was not what we were expecting, and they offered to put us in another room (we were charged extra for this). The photos on the website looked like this room MAY have looked like ten years ago. While this room was better, it still left a lot to be desired - the lino was again peeling up at the edges; the carpets, although cleaner than in the first room, were still dirty; and the room smelled funny.
  
  The setting is great for someone looking to get away, and the golf course looked nice, but we decided not to stick around for any longer than we had to. Fortunately we were able to get a refund for the other two nights we had booked.
  
  If we had been expecting a low budget place, this would have been fine, however, we had much higher expectations from a place billed as a four star ``resort``
