The historical Hotel Pas De Calais is located approximately a mile from the Paris Opera and the Louvre and 15 miles from Charles de Gaulle Airport. Childebert the 1st founded the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres in 543. The street was a lane until 1652 when it was named Rue des Saints-Peres. Number 59 was built around 1750 as a mansion house; it was known as the Hotel de La Vallette, Parisian residence of the famous writer and poet Chateaubriand. It was transformed into a hotel in 1815 and is one of the oldest buildings of that type in Paris. It has belonged to the same family since 1922.
