The location of the hotel is superb: It is directly next to The Little Nell and less than a block from the Ajax gondola. It looks like some of the rooms may have had a view of Ajax, however we did not stay in one that did. The hotel has several positives: Location is great. The hotel appeared to be very pet friendly, although we did not bring our dog on the trip. The decor is very cool. It was an eclectic mix of traditional lodge meets Euro-chic and the overall "scene" is great, especially if you are early 20's to early 30's. Now for the negatives: The hotel was pricey, which is to be expected given the location however the rooms were exceedingly small given the hefty price tag. Some of the staff were friendly, but not all. We had a problem with our room being quite dirty upon check in. The issue was resolved, however there was no follow up to make sure we were subsequently satisfied. By the end of the day the pool did not look clean enough to swim in (although the next morning it looked good again) but there did not appear to be much mid-day maintanence to keep it clean. Most of the guests had major attitudes: Think wanna be young hollywood elite, but not nearly as fabulous (but that is not the hotel's fault; that also tends to be the case in Aspen in general) just be prepared for that type of atmosphere if you plan to stay at Sky. Last, the hotel can become quite noisy at night because of the night life. Depending on the location of your room relative to the pool and night club, you may not get a good night's sleep.

This chic happening hotel is for the young at heart that enjoys noise and the hip scene of Aspen. Rooms are extremely small for the price and leave a lot to be desired. The lobby and employees are very good but the whole experience is DEFINITELY not worth the price.

The hotel and staff were superb. From the nightly altitude adjustment (wine samplings) to the concierge who sought us out as we first exited our room. The service is personalized and made you feel that you were the most important guest. We will always look for Kimpton hotels wherever we travel!
