I have been very pleased with Red Lion Bakersfield. I have used their hotel on numerous occasions over the last 2 months. The front staff has most always been very pleasant, with the exception of one snotty girl. She demanded my c/c when others had not asked for it the 4 other times I had been there in the previous month. The Housekeeping service was very quick and efficient when a shower curtain failed, they were there in minutes to clean up the bathroom floor. The beds are extremely comfy and the complementry breakfast is always fresh, hot and quick. Drinks included. The only downside I guess because it is not summer the pool and hot tub are empty. Beautiful but empty. I am looking forward to my bi-weekly trips in the summer.

While on the road and faced with a list of 4 possibilities downloaded online we attempted to make reservations online over the phone. Our first choice only had double beds and we wanted a queen, the other 3 looked too low budget so our online agent suggested the Red Lion since they had a promo that put it within our budget. It was a good deal for the $ including tax, but was showing signs of wear, especially the carpet. However, the room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. They had a very nice breakfast with eggs, potatoes, waffles plus the other assorted continental breakfast items. The front desk people were very friendly and gave some suggestions on dining in the area. There is a restaurant on site, but we opted for the nearby Black Angus and our 14 year old nephew went for PIzza at John's (had a huge arcade, gocarts, etc. We were happy with the value.
