The hotel was very nice, very clean. The front desk was friendly and responsive. There were no drawers in the room to put our clothes in so we had to live out of our suitcases. The hotel is located in the heart of the city and very noisy at night. There was no thermostat in the room so we had to leave a window open. The noise from the busy streets below kept us up at night.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was great however the room was so noisy we did not sleep all night. I would recommend this hotel ONLY, and I do mean ONLY, if you can be sure to get an inside room away from the street. The night life is robust and the windows are single pane and old - that's a bad combination. Literally, all night long we were treated to the loud sounds of several sirens, a fight, an arrest, a mugging, and a choir of drunken singers. It was unbelievable. I really can't overstate just how constantly loud it was. Outside of the noise, the hotel was perfect. Great location, good price, great staff, very comfortable, etc, etc, etc. Again, stay there but ONLY, and I do mean ONLY, if you are guaranteed to have an inside room away from the street.

The hotel was nice and clean and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Check in and out went smoothly. As the hotel is located in the heart of the tourist center, there was a considerable ammount of noise from the street but I had a standing floor fan in the room and with that on, it obscured a lot of the street noise. The phone service was a bit lacking in that one of the phones in my room didn't work at all and the other one's message light was broken and so I was unaware that I had any phone messages until I receivd and e-mail from my husband saying tha he had left several messages. The charges in the business center was quite high (25p per minute) so it is best to find an internet cafe. You cannot beat the location though. You will be ablout 3 minutes away from Waverely Train Station , convenient if you are taking the shutle to and from the airport. And the Royal Mile and Princess Street take maybe 1 minute to walk to. I traveled alone and had the most wonderful time in this extremely interesting and friendly city.
