  We have stayed at many Hampton Inns around the country and generally find them to be quite nice with a good breakfast and great for the family-not so in Steamboat Springs. First of all, no where on the internet hotel details does it say that there are train tracks running paralell (about 50 yards away) from the hotel. Twice a night while we tried to sleep it felt and sounded like the train was coming right thru our room-very, very, very loud and annoying. The hotel seemed to be very understaffed with generally unhelpful and disinterested front desk help. The continental breakfast was the worst that we have had-not kept full and the selection and variety was terrible. It was a weekend and due to the fact the the fields are right behind the hotel we were inundated with lots of roudy, rude little lacrosse boys and their chaperones. They cleaned out the breakfast, took over the pool and lobby computer and ran up and down the halls till late making loud noises. The room was ok and the bed fairly comfortable but the maid had to be reminded to come back and empty the trash cans. Sorry to say we will go down the road to a quieter hotel further from the train tracks next time that we are in Steamboat Springs.

  We ended up at the Hampton for the final night of a long weekend after 2 miserable nights at a different hotel - wish we would have booked here in the first place. We stayed in a suite with a king size bed, and because of our situation the front desk allowed us to check in early. They made every effort to accomodate us, even calling after we were in our room to make sure we were comfortable. The Hampton bed 'experience' is really everything they make it up to be - I was actually disappointed to be going home to my own bed! Highly recommend it to anyone, and this Hampton is in a very convenient location in Steamboat Springs.
