we arrived at the crown plaza two days before the jewish new year. the hotel and the city were empty, and the hotel was pleasant enough. nothing too fancy. the lobby is a little bit stuck in the 90s, with a fake plastic tree and multicolored snake as the decorative centerpieces, but the rooms are remodeled and clean. the following day was the eve of the new year, and suddenly the hotel was filled with loud, obnoxious people, yelling and pushing their way around. the crowne plaza is definitely not organized to deal with such an amount of people at once, so there were lines for everything, from breakfast to checkout. do not visit this hotel during the jewish holidays, since you will only be frustrated by their incompetence in managing the holiday rush. during the days prior to the holiday, when the hotel was empty, the staff was courteous and quick. such a huge difference... be careful when you book!
