One of the better values for money if you?re in London on a budget. The staff was kind and helpful, and the room quite clean and the largest we have ever had in London. They appear be trying to upgrade the place. (The beds were a bit rough.) Because of all this, I hate to say anything bad about the hotel, but unfortunately it?s located in a demilitarized zone. I could tell from the satellite photos I may be taking a risk, and I was right. It?s a very convenient location, and only a couple of blocks from The City and tube, but I would caution the timid or those traveling with a family that you?ll step off the subway and say, ?Oh no Honey, what have I done? I hope we make it through this. All to save a few bucks.? Think of stepping off at Jamaica Station in NYC or Division in Chicago. Just busy all hours, dirty and creepy. Without A/C you have to open a window and the street was insanely loud until 2am every night, when the street sweeper went through. There?s a night club below, so Friday and Saturday nights are positively raucous. On one night there was even a fire in the war zone across the street and the fire trucks showed up and sawed through a wall to get to it. It also seems to attract tour groups, and the kids next to us just kept slamming doors at all hours each night. I got an average of 4 hours sleep over three nights. If you?re a brave, heavy sleeper, go for it. Sorry, City Hotel ? your staff was wonderful and I wish you the best, but I just couldn?t do it again.

We spent 7 nights in July, we enjoyed our stay in the hotel, it is very close to public transportation which we used every day, it also had a very nice continental breakfast, the nearest attraction to the hotel that we went to was the Tower of London which was one subway stop away.

This hotel is nice, it is located very close to a subway station which makes travel throughout the city very easy. The rooms are nice as well, beds were comfortable, and the internet was available in the lobby. However if you're not fond of Indian food you might choose another hotel to stay in - this section of the city is basically Indian Food Restaurants. My only complaint about this hotel was the staff - they were unhelpful, rude in some cases, and seemed to have no idea where anything in the city was located - even if it was only supposed to be a couple of blocks from the hotel.

The City Hotel is conveniently located, but don't expect super luxury. It's clean, accommodating and the staff are friendly; it is well worth the price, especially if you're battling the cost of living (even for a week!) in London. Three beds in the room for three people, great water pressure, always had hot water and there's also a safe in the room and a television. A bit noisy at night with the restaurant downstairs, but close your windows and it will block out the sound. Overall, a very nice place to stay.
