We stayed at the Caravelle Tower, which is in desperate need of repair. When we got off of the elevator we knew we were in trouble. The washer and driers were sitting in front of the elevator doors, they were opened and looked like they had just been picked up off of the street. When we got to the room, things did not improve, we had a studio, but the kitchen and bathroom were terribly out dated, and the patio was sticky we didn't even want to know what that was. We also asked for a non smoking room, which we recieved, but we were surrounded by smokers, which defeated the purpose of a non smoking room. I called down to get house keeping to service our room while we were out; however, when we returned, we found a BAG of towels on the floor, none of the dirty towels were taken, and the bed was not made. I was at the point where I wanted to gather all of the dirty towels and throw them in the hallway, but my wife would not let me. Anyway, we would not be staying here again because the Caravelle Tower really makes the Caravelle resort name look bad.

On the day of arrival our room was not ready, when we got into the room we found that there was no towels and the room was not clean after all. Every day we needed to ask continuously for towels, and Tuesday, May 26, 2009 room was not serviced at all. The front desk was not helpful with any questions we had about the services, transportation, attraction , etc... We would not recommend this resort for anyone.

Beware of the Caravelle Resort. There are 2 buildings. One is nice, completely redone and attractive. The other is the Caravelle Tower. It is a dump. There was no room service. The maid did not clean the room one day. The room smelled. Make sure when you book reservations that you request the building that has been redone and has the restaurants @ it's ground floor.

We've stayed at the Caravelle twice. Both times we stayed in the 3 bedroom condos. There is plenty of room for 8+, but if you're extra fussy, as we are, make sure you ask questions before you book. Our first experience was good and so we booked again for our next trip. The second trip was less enjoyable. All 8 of us, after having loaded the fridge with food and emptying our suitcases, had to relocate on our second night. The stove & appliances were in pretty bad condition which initially didn't bother us, but then other things seemed to be out of order. The twin bed in the front room was lop-sided making sleep VERY uncomfortable. The sink in the bathroom was leaking and to top it all off, the roof in our living area was leaking from the condo above. The Caravelle was very accommodating and moved us to a condo right next door. It was like day and night! Other than the smell of smoke, the condo was in great condition and very well cared for. We were compensated with free breakfast for the remainder of our stay, which was great. The breakfast buffet is awesome.

I've read other reviews and everybody has different opinions but for me, I had a great time. I was fortunate enough to get my room in the newly rennovated building. When I walked into my room and saw all of the features and how spacious it was, I was flabbergasted! It was a nice sized kitchen and had a nice living area which is next to the area where the dining area is. And the interior designs by where the beds are were very unique and the beds are in my opinion very comfortable. I was very tired when I first checked in and I layed down to take a nap and I was sleep within 5 minutes! In some other comments, people said that the staff and hotel workers were rude but they were nice and friendly to me and they trated me like a king. The location on the north end of the beach is in a very isolated area and it makes going out fun because there's hardly any traffic to be annoyed with commuting back and forth to your room. My only problems are that you have to be very careful when you are driving your car up and down the parking deck because there's not a lot of room to maneuver your car and my only other problem was in the bathroom where the toilet seat was old and was loose and wobbly. Other than that, it was a wonderful weekend getaway and it was worth my time and then some.
