Terrible, NOT Recommended
11/16/2009I thought this hotel was going to be nice...not. the hotel desk clerks are not courteous and they don't clean the bedrooms. asked for towels, because house cleaning ...
I thought this hotel was going to be nice...NOT. The hotel desk clerks are not courteous and they don't clean the bedrooms. Asked for towels, because house cleaning did not clean my room, like they're supposed to everday. The clerk gave me the towel that's supposed to go on the floor...how terrible is that. Not trained, or ill-trained. Will never stay in another Wingate hotel. Don't waste your money!

Hotel was close to the interstate so access was easy. There is very little in the way of fast food, etc. at the same exit, so you have to drive an exit or two down the highway for ameneties. Hotel was basically clean, but kind of bare bones in its furnishing style - certainly not a 3 star, in my opinion. More like a decent 2-star hotel. The beds were fine, but the bathroom could have used some more cleaning. Room air conditioner was on the fritz, tho the rest of the hotel was well cooled. Breakfast was ample and good quality. Nobody was really around to check on things in the front desk/breakfast area, however, so you had to ring to get service of any kind. There are other hotels similarly priced in the area, I would check one of them before I would stay at the Wingate again.

For the money, this is the best in Augusta by far. Very Friendly and accomodating staff. Clean rooms, free, fast internet. This is a little far from Augusta National and downtown but if you want a nicer hotel than those on Washington Rd. This is the one for you. Close to food, and right off the highway. The staff was very helpful with questions, requests, and went out of their way to make our stay the best it could be!

I was pleasantly surprised at the hotel - it was clean, the breakfast was good and staff friendly and helpful - after looking at the previous ratings, I was suspect...but it was fine. we were happy, staff anxious to please the guests

No warm reception from front desk. Bed linen appeared unchanged. Second day, returned to room at 6 p.m.room had not been cleaned, trash in cans, bed unmade and no towels (they picked up the dirty towels). Front desk seamed surprised when I requested another room. Second room had no shower curtain or iron. NICE HOTEL POOR SERVICE
