The room was very attractive in an understated chic way.The bed was probably the most comfortable, plush and supportive bed that I ever was in.The lighting was very good also. There was a nice reading light on each side of the bed that was not disturbing at all to the other person who might want to sleep.The bathroom was beautiful. It had opaque french doors, a tub and a separate shower, Occitane toiletries and plenty of towels. They supplied very nice plush robes also. Everything was very clean and the hotel was quiet. The location can't be beat- just a block from Rittenhouse Square and centrally located to so many great restaurants. When we wanted to stay in the area after checking out, we were able to check our bag in the lobby. We had a little trouble getting our "key" to work in the elevator but it was not a problem.

OUTRAGEOUSLY comfortable beds. Seriously. I used to try to stay only at the Ritz, but these beds have me sold. You will not want to get up. But you'll manage it! Hotel is in about the most convenient location, smack dab in the middle of center city. In an area awash in great restaurants and shops the only problem is having TOO MUCH choice. I would skip the hotel breakfast and instead head to one of the nearby breakfast places like DiBrunos or Marathon Grill. You'll save a bundle and see more of the city. Seriously. In the restaurant even at LUNCH they charge you $9 for a bottle of water and you don't even get the full bottle. Bar is nice, spacious and comfortable. Massive windows for people watching and you don't feel like you are missing the city being sat in a hotel bar. Fitness center is passable, but limited and there is very little floor space for mat work. But your cardio and weight machines are all brand new and clean. Be sure to review your bill when you leave tho. They hand it you in an envelope so the temptation is to just look later. This was the second time I checked out and they charged me $30 a night for valet service. I don't have a car. I called and they apologized and immediately reversed the charges. I wonder how many business travelers don't look and just submit the expense. The beds though.... you'll be spoiled for other hotels!

Since I booked the flight and hotel together online the price was quite reasonable. This was my first experience with Sofitel and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The hotel outstanding, the accommodations were excellent and the restaurant lounge/bar were great. Since the hotel is in the center of the city gettingoaround on foot or via cab were hassle free. I'll definately stay there again.
