Typically, when I visit Las Vegas, I opt for one of the bigger hotel/casino resorts. This visit I needed a kitchen for an athletic event that I was competing. I have to say I loved staying at the Desert Rose. Not a typical Extend a Stay but a condo/timeshare kind of room. It was clean and nice. The location was perfect! Desert Rose is located nestled between the Tropicana and Hooters Hotel. I recommend highly!!

The amenities, staff and cleaniliness of the resort exceeded our expectations. The location was very convienent to the strip, the interstate and the airport, but was very quiet. The room layout was perfect. We had some people over on two occasions and unlike a hotel room, we had places to seat everyone. The kitchen had everything you needed for preparing a meal or just keeping some beverages cold. The breakfast fare offered ws fine. The coffee great. The manager's reception was a surprise that we enjoyed a few nights. If you are looking for comfortable accomadations that don't require you to walk through a casino everytime you go to your room, this is the place. It is not glamorous, but it is very comfortable and functional.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean. It is a little bit of a walk to the strip, but it was nice to be away from all the noise. The rooms where clean, and really nice. The breakfast in the mornings was great, just get there early because it gets crowded. We will stay here again.

Front desk accommodating and friendly. The layout of the condo was very nice, as well as the furniture, and accessories in the kitche, i.e. coffeee pot, toaster, etc. The mattresses were very comfortable as well as the bed linens (not scratching) and I slept very comfortably. Housekeeping did not come by every day, and when they did, it was very late in the afternoon. I watched a cockroach scurry along the bathroom floor. I reported it to the front desk. They said they had sprayed and it could not be avoided. The pool area was great. There were several umbrellas/tables/chairs and chaise lounges available as well as towels. The water in the jacuzzi was hot and you had the ability to turn it on with a timer. Breakfast was exceptionally good. Breakfast offerings were quickly wisked away at exactly 9:00 a.m., after which housekeeping cleared tables and we had to sit through extremely loud banging as they dropped the tables to the floor and snapped the legs back into place. Social Hour was very nice; wine and beer with nachos and cheese and some type of burrito. A welcome snack that time of the afternoon. The location is "perfect", especially if you don't have a car. It is half a block off the strip, across from the MGM which is a great starting place. Go south and you'll find New York New York, and across the street is the Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay. If you go north, via the monorail you can visit many of the hotels such as Caesar's Palace, Mirage, Treasure Island, Harrah's, Paris and the Bellagio. Great location. I would go back there again, for sure, rather than stay at a large hotel where we saw long check-in and check-out lines, overcrowded pool areas.

My son and I wanted a quick 4 day break, so we went to Vegas and chose the Desert Rose. I have stayed dozens of times in Vegas in all the usual casino hotels, but this was very different (for Vegas). No slots or gambling or even a bar, great rooms, excellent front desk, free breakfast which is always packed but well stocked all the time. Great pool and hot tubs, great prices, excellent location, Free wi-fi and car parking. Those two things alone can cost you another $30 a day. I will recommend this hotel to anyone. Even for company business, you can twin up easily as there are 1 or 2 bedroom apartments, with full kitchen. All rooms have doors so even a co-ed mix is easy.
