Picked hotel for central locale in Madrid. Found it to be a wonderful find. Beyond its ideal placement in the very walkable center of Madrid--an active city center--the hotel staff was friendly, good-humored and helpful. Rooms were good-sized for Europe, clean, smoke free (!), and well-appointed. As I stayed here twice--a night going into Spain and a night going out--I had two different rooms; both had small balconies. Breakfast was plentiful (though not especially a bargain at E15.5); very nice ground floor bar/restaurant (though not smoke free); and a lovely roof patio giving one a sense of the panorama of Madrid. Madrid's metro system is accessible a short block up the street from the hotel, and a bus stop is at the front door to the hotel. Most of the major sights to see in central Madrid can be walked to in under 20 minutes (30 if you're looking around as you go). Dining, shopping, and drinking options are plentiful all within this walking range. Being a capital city guy, I found Madrid--and this hotel--to be very appealing and comfortable. I won't hesitate to recommend this site and city in the future.
