The Lafayette was an excellent value. We paid $68 USD a night for my husband, myself and our 20 year old daughter. We had a 2 room suite and a small bathroom, I think these are the only type of rooms available but I am not sure .There is a kitchenette and a day bed in the living room. We started our travels in Chile meeting our daughter at the Lafayette and we ended up canceling a reservation at another recommended hotel and booking at the Lafayette for our last two nights in Chile because we were very satisfied with our suite and we saved quite a bit of money.Provendencia is a great location, easy access to the subway and one day we even walked to the gondola that takes you up to San Cristobal. We could see this gondola from our balcony and the Statue of the Virgin. There are plenty of restaurants within a few blocks , including Starbucks (if you must) around the corner. There is free internet and WIFI, free underground parking if you have a rental car, and a very nice complementary breakfast each morning with cafe, cafe as well as Nescafe! The rooms are small but we only slept there. There is also a dining table with 2 chairs and the hotel staff is friendly but speak mostly Spanish. They accept credit cards which we appreciated as 80 % of our future accommodations during our trip required cash, Chilean Pesos. Also don't buy pesos in the US before you leave, we probably lost $50 on our $500 purchase, wait till you get to the airport in Santiago! One more thing, I had read from a previous review to request a room on the back side of the buiding VS the street side and I did
