The convention center Embassy Suites is relatively new so everything was in pretty good condition although the bathroom was starting to show a few signs of wear. The blanket for the pull out sofa bed was not clean. Although we were in a nonsmoking room, the master (king) bed smelled of smoke; this was undetectable prior to pulling the sheets down so its hard to fault the hotel. We ordered room service one night and the food was delivered promptly and was very good (hamburgers and soup). We also took advantage of the made to order hot breakfast and enjoyed it. The elevator music was VERY loud and pretty contemporary (hip hip sometimes, rock sometimes). The hotel is pretty close to Ford Theater & the Spy Museum, not too far from a few streets with many good restaurants, and a bit of a hike (10-14 blocks) to the Mall area. We have stayed in the Embassy Suites in Georgetown and like it better for family stays. The atrium & koi at that hotel were a big attraction for my kids, and overall the common areas there are bigger and more inviting for families. The Embassy Suites Convention center didn't feel as special although it was a perfectly nice hotel (except for the 2 housekeeping issues I named).

I can't say enough "great" words about staying at this hotel for 6 days (Oct. 9-15, 2009). Our room had a separate living area (sofa, chair, desk (with a TV), and separate bedroom (also with a TV). Very comfortable. Two closets and lots of drawer space for our "stuff". The entire staff was excellent; friendly, professional, and helpful. Every morning we took advantage of the free buffet breakfast, fruit, donuts, juices, and custom omlet station. The food was fantastic. In the evening, happy hour is their treat as well. You name the drink and they will make it for you. The hotel is located in the heart of D.C.; within walking distance to the Smithsonians, Spy Museum, Ford Theater, National Monuments, Wax Museum, the Capital, National Mall, China Town....and excellent resturants. We would most definitely stay at the Embassy Suites Washington D.C. Convention again and again.

The rooms are extremely spacious. Our suite featured a large room with King-size, very comfortable bed, kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator and gourmet coffee, and dining table. Full tiled bath with amenities. The room was immaculate. It is very convenient to the Convention Center, Chinatown, Government buildings, the METRO and dining ;on-site and nearby. A GREAT FIND!!! All of the personnel were very friendly and accommodating. The daily breakfast is made-to-order and they feature a nightly manager's reception. The pool is a very nice size with a tremendous view of the lights of DC. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Our stay at this hotel was outstanding. The rooms are big,very clean and the staff was always pleasant and helpful. The price was also great. The breakfast served each morning included with the price of the room was awesome. We highly recommend this hotel.
