This hotel itself was nice and the staff was very friendly. The hotel is a newer hotel and very well kept. The only thing that we were not extremely happy about was the so called 1st floor is really a basement street level so the view was not the best but we did not spend much time in the room other then to sleep and clean up. The area is a nicer area in Brooklyn and very close to subway. Bring you walking shoes as you will walk everywhere you go which is not a bad thing as you see all. There is a great little bakery on the corner of 4th and Union that is a great place to get a bagel and coffee in the morning before you hit the subway. Also, make sure you walk around on 5th as they have a lot of restaurants and stores. Overall we were very happy with our trip and will be back.

Our stay was three nights, end of April, 2009. We found the staff to be very kind, helpful and efficient. We enjoyed the hot breakfast every morning. Our room was clean and comfortable. I was not nervous about walking the neighborhood in the evenings and we did this often. We enjoyed walking the 1.4 miles to our son's home. I will stay at this hotel again and I will recommend it to others.

The ground floor is half underground, with windows near the ceiling. We weren't told about this when we made our reservation, but we were fortunate as they did have another room available. This one had it's problems too; just off the breakfast area, with an ice machine virtually next to the door, we would often hear people talking and the ice machine chugging. Sleeping in? Forgedaboudit. On other trips in other rooms, it was good enough- convenient location, but you wouldn't want to walk to the right at night.

My family of 4 stayed for 4 nights in a "two double beds" room. The room was very tight, with almost no room to move about once our 4 suitcases were in there. However the hotel is quite new and clean. The surrounding area is not very attractive, but the hotel is only 50m from the subway station and it is only a few stops to Manhattan. There is a good restaurant district nearby in 5th Avenue (Park Slope). The hotel provides a very good free breakfast, including cereals, toast, bagels, croissants, pastries, french toast, coffee, cinnamon rolls, yoghurt, fruit and juices. The price was reasonable given the ease of access to new York City.
Rooms have no refrigerators.
