The front desk was rude and the breakfast was horrible! The eggs were just hard frozen chunks that had not been thawed out very well .The only view is of the Wal-Mart next door with too much traffic. The room was too expensive for what it was but was nice and clean (for the most part) and close too the beach.

We stayed at the Galveston Hampton Inn after my son's hospital discharge from surgery, and found it a wonderful haven of rest. The pillowtop beds were so comfortable with down comforters and plenty of plump pillows. We had a nice 32" (?) HD TV, fridge, microwave and wireless internet. The staff was very helpful to find a room close to everything so my son wouldn't have to walk far. We have to travel to Galveston frequently for my son's care, so we will definitely be staying at the Hampton Inn again.

Great Hotel, Bad Service

My family has always tried to find Hampton's as the first choice hotel when ever we travel. EVEN though this hotel was more than average price for most hotels that were not directly on the SeaWall. We still picked the Galveston Hampton located right around the cornerl. We knew it was a new hotel and we thought it would be comfortable. Well we went to Galveston right when a hurricane was hitting and we knew the weather was going to be rainy and windy so we booked a room at this hotel with the thought it had an indoor pool. When we pulled up there was an out door pool and my family and I asked the lady at the front desk if there was anyway to cancel in order to go somewhere else where my son could go swim. The front desk staff was more than unprofessional, unsympathetic and cold. We weren't trying to sneak our way out of the hotel, but it would have been nice if the first person you talk to at the hotel had a little class and sensitivity. The hampton inn home office completely understood and was great about the whole situation, but unfortunately it was up to that one front desk "manager" to charge us fees. When we came home from our stay we had a rude and insulting message at our home number from the manager of the hotel... NEEDLESS TO SAY we won't be back at this Hotel, as for other Hampton Inn's we hope to stay at them again, they are usually a great place to stay.
