We've been going to the Bahamas for 8 years now and each time we go we enjoy seeing the same island friends we have made over the years. We recently heard some negative things about the hotel we usually stay at on Cable Beach and so we decided to try something new, which is when we found Blue Water. We were pleasantly surprised with the warm nature and quaint character of this resort. Having a big villa was definitely a plus too because we are a family of 5 and so only having to book one room made our vacation cheaper than expected. It was family friendly but definitely not only families staying there. We did have some trouble with the sliding glass door at first - but nothing that was too big of a deal - it's the Bahamas! Anyways, we were glad that we were able to return to Nassau and enjoy our annual vacation while finding a new place on the island that we will probably return to on our next trip.

We had a quiet, clean, spacious 3BR, 3.5 bath oceanfront/poolside unit on 3 floors with fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, grill, patio, and 2 decks. Most units are timeshare. There were lots of families having a great time, yet not a lot of noise. Granted, it was unusually cold (40s-high 60s - we might choose a late Feb/early March stay another time), so pool and oceanfront activity was limited with reduced numbers of people near our unit. Perfect temps for sightseeing, though. Good supermarket, liquor stores, restaurants and one of the island's two casinos within walking distance. Great bus service with a stop right outside the front gate. Minor repair issues apparent in our unit and throughout the complex, but no worse than other moderately priced Caribbean hotels; a renovation program is underway. All staff members were friendly, helpful (yes, X, we love you best), and will back off when you say you don't want to hear more about buying a timeshare. Karaoke night got pretty loud, but stopped, as promised, promptly at 10. Snack bar food and drinks were fine, with service on Caribbean time (Hey, you're on vacation, right? Just see it as an opportunity for a comfortable chat with staff and other owners/renters while you're waiting.) Perfect place for travelers seeking comfortable surroundings, without crowds (only 30-some units) and convenient to activities without having them all directly outside your door. Be aware you will be asked for a security deposit at check in.
