we had a wonderful stay. the staff was nice and the FREE breakfast was HOTTTT sausage, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy and the usual stuff like pastries , cereals hot and cold, yogurt etc. The hotel is brand new with all the rooms facing the ocean. The hotel is close to Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn water park.

Check in/out was smooth. The hotel had a fresh smell that I appreciated, my husband says I am a picky gut, but someone might also have OCD and appreciate my comments so here goes!!Considering all the reviews of other Galveston hotels after the hurricane it did NOT smell like mildew at all. The room was immaculant, and they even upgraded without telling us, to an ocean front view. Pleasant suprise! The bed can't compare to my sleep number back at home, but otherwise comfortable. I love the bedding, CLEAN white comforter, fluffy pillows made for relaxing TV time, but not sleeping. (little TOO fluffy, so bring your own!) The flat screen plasma was awesome too. Complimentary breakfast was excellent, hot, yummy, but when they say til 9am, they mean 9 am SHARP!! Pool was crystal clear, no chlorine but upgraded saltwater system water, cute tiki lounge areas, at night they have colorful hydraulic lights in both the hot tubs & pool, which is really cool :) The front desk staff was sweet & polite but there seemed to be more maids in the hallways than I have EVER seen in any hotel in my life. Seriously! In fact we seen more maids than actual guests. And they won't share an elevator or even move out of your way in the hall when you are pushing a loaded luggage rack. Overall, I would not stay anywhere else next time.

We stayed at the hotel from July 2-6th. The hotel provided a hot breakfast each morning with a wide variety. It is a distance from the action on the SeaWall but is not too far by car. The only problem I have with this hotel is that we had to seek out the cleaning crew each day. We would have to ask for clean towels and have the trash cans emptied. Once we informed the front desk of this problem they immediately sent them up to clean the room. So, their response was courteous and prompt. Overall, this is a very good hotel!

05/28/2009We stayed at the brand new holiday inn express over memorial weekend...the staff was great, the hot breakfast was great and the room was super....we will stay here ...
We stayed at the brand new Holiday Inn Express over Memorial Weekend...The staff was great, the hot breakfast was great and the Room was Super....We will Stay here again. A little West of all the noise of the Seawall Traffic but a beautiful view of the water and just across from the Seawall....Great Stay..
